Valentina Gentile is the founder and Managing Partner at Expansion Partners, a full service, boutique fundraising advisor specialized in targeted fundraising and marketing campaigns for the alternative investment industry. 

With over 10 years of work experience in the private market industry, Valentina is a passionate and driven capital partnering professional who strives to create value for investors, portfolio companies, and society. She has a strong background in corporate finance, as well as a deep understanding of the healthcare, sustainability, technology, and consumer sectors. As a capital partnering advisor, Valentina is responsible for developing relationships with prospective investors, as well as supporting the fundraising and marketing activities of her clients. 

Prior to founding Expansion Partners, Valentina gained investor relation experience in the asset management industry while working at Bain Capital where she raised ten funds across buy-out Europe, North America and Asia, Impact, Life Science, Credit Special Situations and Real Estate. Valentina was Head of European Investor Relations at Charterhouse Capital Partners and led fundraise campaigns for its buyout and continuation vehicles. Moreover, Valentina has gained strong experience working with family offices while at B-FLEXION, the multi-billion entrepreneurial investment firm owned by Ernesto Bertarelli, in the capital formation team to provide support to capital raising strategy and introductions to other family offices and like-minded investors. Since 2022, Valentina is a member of the Strategic Committee of the Italian Private Capital Association, a non-profit organization that aims to foster the professional and personal network of Italian private capital professionals in the UK. 

Valentina started her career in banking working at Lehman Brothers in Structured Finance and continued working at Lehman Brothers in Administration with PricewaterhouseCoopers, in charge of negotiating debtor and creditor claims with large institutional counterparts. 

Valentina holds an MSc in Accounting and Corporate Finance, and B.A in Economics from Bocconi University (Italy). Valentina is passionate about coaching, public speaking and continuous learning, and volunteers for MindGym, running coaching programs on a pro-bono basis. Valentina fluently speaks English, French, and Italian.
